How to rotate an image online

Rotate without cropping
Quarter turns rearrange image pixels without resizing or cutting off the corners. A 90° clockwise turn rotates right; 270° rotates left; 180° turns the image upside down. The output width and height swap on quarter turns. Each change uses the original decoded image.
Frequently asked questions
Can I rotate HEIC photos from an iPhone?
Yes. HEIC and HEIF photos are decoded locally when your browser cannot open them directly. The primary image is rotated and exported as PNG. Unusual codecs or damaged files may not decode.
Which image formats can I rotate?
PNG, JPEG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF, TIFF, AVIF, and JPEG XL are supported, plus GIF, BMP, and ICO when the browser can decode them. Animated and multi-image files produce one still image. Camera RAW development and HDR preservation are not supported.
Does rotation reduce image quality?
The tool rearranges decoded 8-bit RGB pixels without resizing them and saves a lossless PNG with transparency. Color profiles, HDR data, animation, and original metadata are not preserved. Fully transparent pixel colors may be normalized by the browser.
Can I rotate by a custom angle?
This tool supports 90° steps: 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270°. Arbitrary angles and straightening are not currently supported.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Local images are decoded and rotated on your device. Additional image decoders are downloaded only when needed.
