How This Resize Tool Works

The resize page uses browser-native image decode, scaling, and re-encode paths. That keeps the workflow local and responsive while still working across modern browsers.

For very large images, the page tries to use a downscaled decode path first to reduce peak memory use before drawing to canvas. Animated image formats are treated as a single-frame resize in this browser workflow.
